Our stay in Orient Beach this time is delightfully long at 26 nights.
$30/day for two chairs & an umbrella at the Club O end of the beach for the period is a bunch of money.
We have a Tommy Beach we can bring. Any of you good people have experience buying sun lounges in SXM?

Buying is pretty expensive down island also. Why don't you check with Craig at Packlight. Just google it, as I'm too lazy to look it up at the moment.

would by chairs and some sort of shade umbrella at Kooyman or Ace in Phillipsburg we purchased the zero gravity loungers which were very comfortable and a flimsy umbrella which did what was needed if you have a good relationship with wherever you stay , they may store it for your
before that we had rented from Craig at packlight
Our maintenance man used to store ours along with my snorkel gear and we would take it out for a nice dinner didn't have the heart to ask for our belongings after Irma

"Buy-and-pitch" also sounds very expensive.
I was on the island earlier this month. I rented two chairs and an umbrella from Packlight. Easy-peasy. He charged $55 for... I dunno, probably 11 or 12 days. We arranged drop-off and pick-up at my convenience, so no need to travel to get the items. Money well spent.
You can take the chairs/umbrella to other beaches (such as Happy Bay or Rouge). Or move further south down Orient, past the yellow umbrellas.
He also rents Igloo coolers - hard-sided, the kind where the top tilts.
Shoot an email to packlightsxm<at>hotmail.com.

Buy a “shibumi” sunshade. Lightweight, EXTREMELY, and will fit in your suitcase or carryon. $200-250.
Buy chairs at ACE and leave behind.
Maybe your lodging could accept an amazon purchase prior to your arrival of wheeled beach loungers that turn into a cart for cooler and towels.

Amazon does not deliver to SXM. Has to be delivered to shipper in Miami and shipped to SXM,. Then picked up at airport cargo terminal.

How does the island live without an Amazon type service? 1st world question.
Our plan would be Shibumi and packlightvas the prices quoted above are very good. We bring backpack coolers and buy some drinks and food as well.

Remember if no wind your shibumi won’t work. Witnessed a husband having a total meltdown on Florida as it was useless!!! And yes you can “Amazon” to SXM. You just need to set up a freight forwarder. I do it all the time. You just need to give enough time - I always send via ship and the company will deliver to the condo and it’s included in the extra fee.

Shibumi has a new addition called wind assist. We haven't tried ours yet, as we were Shibumi haters because of the noise they make. However, when there too much wind for our Cool Cabana one day last summer, we bought a Shibumi, which was also advertised as a quieter model. We haven't been back to the beach since...life gets in the way sometimes.

Shibumi can be noisy like a flag. It doesn’t bother us much but we bet it might bother some our neighbors. Kind of like my own loud music sounds great to me.
We may get a cool cabanas as well. We see cool cabanas a lot and they look easy to carry and setup as well and they are silent and make solid shade.

We love our Cool Cabanas; have two which we use together when we have guests at the beach. Only twice in ten years or so has there been too much wind at Emerald Isle for them.

When we pay for chairs and umbrellas from Cedrick, I assume we are also paying to offset the cost of cleaning up the seaweed, which seems to be more every year. If you bring your own chairs, well then you are not. Maybe you should bring a rake too?

We bought a lounge chair from Ace - it was around $60, and left it in the Airbnb when we left. I have seen others that buy at Ace, then sell at half price on the SXM group on Facebook when they are ready to leave.
