Hello,

My group would like to jet ski and parasail while in SXM in August. I figure the best place to parasail would be Orient, so I found a deal there. It looks like the parasail session is pretty short. I guess 15 minutes is normal? Also, I need some suggestions for jet skiing. It looks like our options for a 30 or 60 minute session would be from Simpson Bay, Marigot, or Phillipsburg. I did see one out of Anse Marcel, but we do not plan to go there. Any suggestions for a good jet ski tour for mostly beginners? Thanks in advance!

You can rent jet skis at Orient Bay. I don’t think they do tours from there though.

Although I have not personally enjoyed, the rhino safari tour looks like a lot of fun.

Maybe David will add some information as I know he has enjoyed many times

Did hear may not be good for those with bad backs

Should be very good for beginners

As Mahokid was saying. I've been out on the Rhino Safari mini speed boats MANY times (12 times) and they are a BLAST!!! There are new owners . BUT still a great time. You can rent a single or go out double on one boat!! Depending on how calm the ocean is will determine which route they will take you. If it's calm that day, you could go from the marina at Pineapple pete's to around Simpson bay to Maho beach, watch the planes come in. If it's rough that day, you'll tour the marina's to the french side and up the west coast to Creole rock and do some snorkeling. The last time(April 2025) I went out with the new crew we pitstopped at Friars bay. Some snorkeled some ponied up at the bar. Either way, it a great time for 2.5 hours!!! I would say, mention my name, but don't think that will get you a discount with this new crew ,(why not!!) !!! Email: Rhino Safari <rhino_excursions@yahoo.com> Ask for "Tim" These are a lot more fun than a jetski and a lot safer, also, a lot easier on the body, they cruise like a mini boat but more fun than a jetski as I was just saying!! I even got my scaredycat wife Louise to go out !! I turned around to see how my newbie wife was doing, and there she was doing a "Leo titanic"!!! LOL!!!

Thanks for the Rhino Safari suggestions. I will take a look at those. As I said, I did book the parasail. I did not see many parasail tours/excursions out there. Any suggestions on that one?

Orient Beach usually has options for parasailing. Walk up and down the beach and you should see options. I doubt they book ahead as weather/wind determines if/when they go.

We did the Rhino Safari years ago when our kids were in junior & high school, so we went 2 to a boat. The older one could be the driver but the younger had to just ride. Lots of fun. Still remember when we stopped in Maho Bay to snorkel and one of the planes landed just over us. I hadn't noticed it coming in so was completely taken by surprise when it roared down just over our heads (or so it felt at the time).

I love hearing about the memories made in SXM! I can't wait to experience it with my family in a few months. Discover SXM sounds like a great time, as well. I was able to make a reservation for parasailing with Fly Addiction Parasail in Orient. Has anyone ever used them? The description says they are located right outside of Bikini Beach Restaurant.

When you pull into the circle parking lot, they are right there!!! Yes, steps away from Bikini beach chairs.
