A new territorial police station in Grand Case just opened. Looks like the local police patrol early afternoon until 9pm. The Gendarmerie take over after that for late night patrol, great news for those who enjoy Grand Case. LINK

Three weeks ago, I was anchored out in Grand Case for several nights. It seemed that each night around 9 pm, the police would close off the main street to vehicular traffic. I thought it might have been a temporary measure, but it seems to still be going on.

They were doing it during the Mardis de Grand Case. No idea if they are still doing it or not.

The Mardi in Grand Case isn't happening now, and the main street had a patrol car with two armed officers blocking it. I think it was 3 or 4 nights in a row while I was there. That's a simple measure but onerous for those living on the street who have a car and parking space.

Last February they closed the street every night at 6PM. Are they still doing this?
