While I love Friar's, I refuse to eat anything that is prepared at the restaurants there. Here is why:
There is no running water in the bathrooms. That means that patrons cannot wash their hands after using the toilet. And if patrons cannot wash their hands, neither can the people preparing the food...
True of many smaller or remote beach bars. I don't like going there because of not being able to use a CC and their exchange rate is usually off the chart. That along with the occasional bad smell coming from the stagnant holding pond I'll pass on Friers.
Scuba, no. In the past I have usually worn water shoes when walking the beach or getting in the water. Today, we walked the entire length of the beach, and got into the water numerous times while barefoot.
FBBC, simply my favorite place to spend a day on the French Side. Good food, great vibe, excellent staff, really love it there. I wish they had pads for their chairs, and sometimes the rocks are a bit much, sometimes there are no rocks. Our days there as well as Cupecoy are the days we find the most relaxing. Dreaming of being there now.
Love FBBC. I consider the Bowie table “mine.” Sadly they were closed for vacation when we visited last summer. We will be there the last week of June. Does anyone know if they will be open that week?
Driftwood has running water. There is a sink out by the "john". I have used it and I've seen the gals rinse out the blenders many times!! As far as running water at Friars bay. I was there back in April with the Rhino's . We pitstopped there. Yes many pebbles at the shore line, and I did see the bartender rinse out the blender with running water, yes the "CC" readers was down!!!
