As of today, the pool at Royal Palm is closed for repairs. Estimated reopening is for Sunday. I’m betting it’ll probably be Monday or later. We were not given the actual repair problem. I’m assuming that one or more pumps have failed. They have made arrangements to shuttle guests over to use the Flamingo pool.

That's a bummer. Are you on island? How is the trip going otherwise?

Could be a scheduled maintenance as sometimes that happens at the Flamingo too. Draining it is sometimes the only way to make repairs. Hopefully nobody broke a glass or beer bottle as that would prompt it to be drained and cleaned. You could always ask one of the people working on it for the reason instead of making the assumptions the pumps failed.

Got here on Saturday leaving next Saturday. All the rest of it has gone pretty good. I have been trying to keep up with composing a trip report, but haven’t posted it. The Internet is pretty sketchy at best. I’m doing this on my phone, which I hate. T-Mobile phone service is not very good here either The carriers they contract with only provide LTE service & my iPhone does not like it .

Unannounced shut down immediately after water aerobics this morning. As a matter fact, they even cut the session short. The attendant mentioned pump problems. Since they threw about 2 gallons of shock in it that indicates to me pump failure. We have a pool at our condo that’s about three times the size of this one I’ve dealt with this issue before

I'm surprised at that WIFI comment as the WIFI at the Flamingo is very fast. Better than I sometimes have at home and the Royal Palm should have the same service and speed as they are both Hilton properties and sister resorts.

I would check at the desk to have someone look at it in your unit. We were at the Royal Palm in March and had really good WiFi in a 1st floor unit.

We were here in November & it was excellent in a 1st floor unit. No blips or outages. Speed was fast enough to view video attachments etc. We are in 2nd floor East end & it is a different world. Constant shutoffs etc. I do most of my stuff from the balcony. 5-8 mpbs when it is on. Frequent rebuffering. I cannot even open some email attachments. Thank goodness they are not important to anyone but me and are not time sensitive. I have reported to the front desk and they are "investigating". Just not acceptable for a $25 per day "resort fee".
