Hopefully I can keep this fairly short, but I was there for 3 weeks, so will only hit the highlights. Here goes!

Weather: Not very good the first week. Rained all day Monday (2/14) at least on the Dutch side...didn't even try to beach it. Tuesday and Wednesday were not the best either. Worst weather I have seen in 15 years of going there. Chilly as well. Very strange. Second week was overcast a couple of days before clearing as well but not as much rain. Third week...Awesome! Sun everyday...hot and no wind. Beautiful though the Heinekin Regatta was having troubles the last day and had to shorten the course due to lack of wind.

Food: Ate at Lee's which was ok but not as good as past years IMHO, Boathouse which has changed hands was excellent. Went there 3 times during our trip and had a great experience each time. The grouper was very good. Banana's as always was very good (thanks Bob and Fiona) We ate there several times in 3 weeks as well. Love their Ruebens. Pizza Galley has great pizza and so are their homemade desserts. Also went to Peg Leg and saw Shawn and had a great steak. Went to Tutta Pasta (kind of surprised they are closed on Saturdays), Hot Tomatoes, Greenhouse and Ric's (great breakfast). We ate at Chesterfields which was very good. My husband loved the seafood sampler. We are not into the gourmet food scene or the prices. We ate twice on the french side and due to the exchange rate it was pretty pricy for what we got.

Bars: Many changes at the Sunset bar. Still a favorite hangout. No Jet Band anymore but Bonfire is very good and they have music during the day also.Cliffhanger was busy the day we were there and get the impression it is a medical school student hangout. Bucaneer was another stop we made several times as was Lady C, etc. All are a good time...

Beaches: Stayed pretty close to our resort as the first two weeks weather was often not good (then we went shopping on rainy days) Did go to Pinel and had a great day there...snorkelling was decent and weather was perfect. Friars, Orient, and Mullet were all busy and good.

Shopping: Did more this trip as the weather was not the best and we also had friends with us looking for some jewelry for their daughter. Majesty (thanks Peter!) was awesome as usual and we found lots of great stuff to bring back. Would highly recommend them.

Odds and Ends: Flamingo, Pelican and Atrium are all in great shape and our stay was great. Traffic was bad and with all the building going on it will only get worse. Not sure what the answer is but with all the bridge openings in Simpson bay it can be frustrating. Had a problem with US Air on the way home but Delta helped them out and we made our connections. Thanks to the people at the US Air desk they were very helpful. Regatta was great always good parties...heard Arnold Schwartzeneger, Jack Nicholson, and more celebs were on island for the weekend. Didn't get to see Jimmy Cliff as we had to leave on Sunday but I'm sure it was great. Car Rental from Safari was good as well. Missed using Kenny's this year but he was out of cars. Island looks great, green and lush (all that rain! ) Overall it was another great trip. It was good to see old friends(thanks Andy for the great cigars), fun to make new ones, and I am already missing it. Unfortunately it will be another year before we can go back. Sorry it was such a long report.
