The heavens opened up in the middle of Tuesday night and it woke us up. It did not last but a minute. That was the extent of rain for Wednesday. It was a beautiful day except for the wind. It brought in some sargassum but the beach remained pretty clean. When we arrived around 10:30 there were not many people here and I managed to snap a few pics. It was a quiet day at Club O considering from the schedule that there were two cruise ships in. We heard later yesterday that Celebrity cruise line cancelled their entire cruise which was due to arrive today. Yay for us but feel bad for the island when they depend on the business. We spent the day doing our usual of walking the beach, chatting with a few people, laying in the sun, and swimming in the water. Again we enjoyed our lunch at the Perch. We ventured there around 1pm only to find that we were the first beachgoers to order lunch. But when they rang the bell at happy hour people started to arrive for drinks and food. I had the best caseur salad with mahi mahi while my man had the grilled chicken club sandwich. Everything was excellent! Like I said the wind was strong yesterday and in the later part of the afternoon it started to wear me out with the flapping of the umbrellas and the wind sound in my ears. I guess we had had enough of the sun so we ventured back to our villa. We had contemplated going to TiPalm in Orient Village for dinner but we were not as hungry as we thought and opted to go to La Favella in the village. Since I was not that hungry I had a lobster bisque and hubby had a plate of chicken and beef fajitas. Everything was delicious and just enough. We might try and skip lunch today (or share something) so we can have a nice dinner tonight. Sorry about the food pics...I always remember to take the pics after we have already started to eat. Another great day in paradise. Pics are of Club O area down by where Papgalos use to be. You can get an idea of what the beach looks like. It definitely is not as wide as it use to be and the walks from one end of Club O to the other seems shorter. Still a beautiful beach and would not think of going to any other island than here. Another day in paradise!
Thanks for taking the time to post your updates and pics. We walk past all those units from club o every day we are there and continue to be saddened that nothing seems to be in the offing for the future. We have not heard great things about la favella and have avoided it. Maybe we will stop in for a visit similar to yours in November.
We went to Ti Palm with the Foodporn group year before last, and it was very good. Can't remember now what we, or anyone else at our table, had, but i do remember that everything was excellent.
