We arrived today (I’m writing at 2am because I can’t sleep), staying at OBBR. Met at the airport by the always charming Lesley Bruce. First stop, Little Jerusalem for a shawarma, SO good.
There isn’t much open in our neighborhood: Big Fish, Mama Pizza, l’Oasis and even the little market Bread and Butter, all closed for the season. We were hoping to grab a few essentials, order our croissants. We’ve visited in the fall plenty of times but I can’t recall so many places closed at the same time. While we do travel to Simpson Bay and the French side for dinner often, it’s nice to have a couple of options close to home base for those times when we’re feeling lazy.
Tomorrow’s plans are a run to Carrefour and then chill by the pool. The beach here is completely gone. There is very little seaweed. There is a bit of sand in front of Coral Beach but we can’t get there from here. In all the years we’ve visited (over 20) we have never seen the beach totally disappear. It’s not a big deal since we prefer Friar’s and Pinel anyway.
So that’s the current state of affairs. We’re here for 2 weeks. If we do anything interesting, I’ll give an update. Probably will be our usual beach, pool, eat, drink, repeat. Glad to do all that in such a beautiful place 😎
