We are arriving onto Anegada via Island Birds Jan 19. Last time I was there the sargassum was pretty bad (last February I think ) -except for Tipsy who kept the area pristinely. How’s it looking this year ? It will be our guests’ first visit to both Anegada and VG. We are doing a conch tour as well.

Then after a few fabulous days on Anegada we are heading to Virgin Gorda for five days. Hoping to get out on a charter with Elaine. And all the usual spots. Hog Heaven, sugarcane, coco maya, Leverick. Any other new places worth checking out? We always love to go see Jude when we go to the Baths. Guess I better take a look at the cruise schedule to plan that outing. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!!! Can’t wait!!!

I can tell you that in early December the 'weed' at Flash of Beauty was pretty minimal. Nothing like last season. Ann keeps the Tipsy stretch of Cow Wreck really clean. Sailing around generally we did not notice nearly as much floating around. I expect not much has changed in the last month or so, but maybe others can offer current observations.

It certainly does not seem nearly so bad so far this year..fingers crossed..

I live on Anegada at Cow Wreck Beach. There is very little sargassum now. I have seen a small patch or two float by in the last couple of days, but there is no accumulation on the beach.

Thanks everyone. Cant wait. I know we need reservations at the popular dining places on Anegada and to place our orders by a certain time. Any recommendations would be great. We are staying at Cow Wreck in Ann’s cottages

Others will chime in with their favorites, but for our crew we always prefer Wonky Dog & Sid's (Pomato Pt). When taken on the whole (food quality, ambiance, service) they have consistently been our best experiences. YMMV.

If you eat at Wonky Dog, and anyone in your party does not want lobster, I would ask if they will make the fillet with peppercorn sauce. This used to be on the menu, and Peter’s peppercorn sauce is as good as I’ve ever had. Each year when we are down, they accommodate this request, and we are highly appreciative.

For me ..Wonky Dog, Lobster Trap and Sid's..ABC for lunch..Lamb shank at the "Dog" is divine..

Enjoy Anegada. We have spent many years on that great island. The food and the natives are fantastic. You must meet Duckfat and his wife. Two wonderful people we are grateful to call friends.

As for Virgin Gorda, other places you did not mention which might be worth considering:

-Biras Creek now has two restaurants. A sushi place called Ikigai, and a new waterfront bar in the Marina called The Mangrove.
-There is a new bar in VGYH - Botella Rooftop Bar. Worth checking out.
-Oil Nut Bay has a restaurant with a pool open to the public in their Marina called Nova. You can ferry over there from Gun Creek.

And other notes:

-Spring Bay recently underwent a renovation. Looks like the bath down has been significantly improved. Would be interested to hear feedback on that.
-The road between Sugarcane and Hog Heaven is currently closed for reconstruction.
