Can anyone recommend the sponsor on this site "Travel Rent A Car"?

Used them once about a year and a half ago when I couldn't contact my usual agency and was pleased with their staff, cars, and price. I was staying at the Royal Islander so their location just down the road from the Sunset Bar @ Grill was a plus.

How about Alain from AAA or any other sponsors on TTOL?

Should we be concerned with any of them?

As a regular reader here, and trying to be fair to everyone, I firmly believe ALL the sponsors here are pretty good guys but the difference in companies is often what you, the consumer, is expecting from your rental company.

Some posters here rent their cars strictly on the basis of price and ten or twenty dollars can be the difference. Others look for a particular service from 'their guy' or the type of plates they might have on their rental cars. Some want to pick their cars up at the airport and some want them delivered to their resort as opposed to going to an office in a van to wait while the paperwork is done. So in the end, it's more about what you're looking for than who someone else might use.

No surprise I think 'my guy' is the best but so does everyone else, I'm sure, so that probably isn't much of a help, but as much as we love Kenny's, I'd also give a big shout out to Unity, too, because his guys have always been very nice and one time they actually called Lesley for me when our flight arrived early and we cleared the airport in no time at all and he was running a little late. I believe repeat customers should be appreciated in some way. Either a discount or a small perk. Unfortunately, one of the highly regarded sponsors here on TTOL who we have used 4 times actually raised his rates and quoted us significantly higher than all these other sponsors.

Just finished booking with Kenny's once again. Lesley is always a pleasure to do business with. You won't go wrong with him.

we have used Steve "Travel Rent A Car" on our last 4 or 5 visits. Nothing but nice things to say. Very reasonable prices. He also includes the use of a cell phone with his rentals.

Have been with Alain for 20 yrs, have sent him at least 20
others, treats us all great. Also see the posts on the last big storm where he brought new cars to folks that had there's flooded the same day. Super great service, can't go wrong.

is it typical for him to take a day or so via email to respond?

I usually hear from him the day after I email, but sometimes it takes 2-3 days if he's busy.

Have used Steve( travel rent a car) for the last 8 years. reasonable clean and decent cars. Plus he is a nice guy

We rented from Travel Rent a Car a few years ago, and unfortunately, will not do so again. The rental special at the time included a full tank of gas, which we did not receive. The owner was also going to charge us for "excess sand" and I was not a happy camper.

We are very happy with Empress, Unity and Kenny.
