I had to book a week at royal islander great bay for the second week since divi didnt have anything. I still have a search with RCI open so i can change it if it comes up so that is good.
My question, anyone have any experience with this resort? I have my misgivings (parking, downtown etc) but would love to hear others opinions including about the resort.
thanks

I thought the Royal Islander was in Maho. The one in Great Bay is Sonesta Great Bay. Not familiar with timeshares so could be wrong <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

it's actually strange. The sonesta and the royal islander are connected. I thought that too but i confirmed the one in maho is not this one. I think they are connected through ownership though.
I was kind of desperate to be honest since i waited until the last minute and NEED my 2 weeks.

The Royal Islander Great Bay is the timeshare arm of the Sonesta Great Bay. Some one TTOL is an owner I believe and will probably chip in. We’ve stayed at the hotel part for a couple of nights in Jan 2014. Easy walk to Philipsburg during the day, not so safe to do so at night. We looked at the TS units, so called Miramar wing. Private sundeck, pool and whirlpool, but you also can use the hotel facilities which we were OK A flaw for us was no sunset as the hill gets in the way, but otherwise workable location Link shows the unit floorplans http://www.royalislanderclubgreatbay.com/accomodations/J&B

I think the person you're speaking of May be Toronto and hopefully he'll see this and respond soon. He seems to be very happy with his GB unit. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

I would look forward to hearing what Toronto has to say if he says it. Oddly enough, just talked to my folks and they are staying there in about a month.
