Barb & I just returned from 8 wonderful days/nights. A big THANK YOU to all the folks who post there insights on this forum.
HIGHLIGHTS: *Left JFK at 8am---direct flight. We bring only carry-on so we had our jeep from Unity(Michael is great) and phone from Sharon by 1pm. Checked into the Summit(stayed there the last 3 years) and was at Cupecoy w/beers from Danny by 2!!! Could it be any better?! *Sunday at Cupecoy-am and pm-afternoon waves were unbelievable!!! 8-10 foot breakers on the north beach. Danny says this only happens in November! *Rum *Monday all day at ClubO beach. Barb had a 1 hour massage from Nathalie at the ClubO spa-said it was fantastic-going back Friday for another one. No problems getting chairs or umbrella. Lots of beach. *Rum *Tuesday-shopping in Pburg in the am and Cupecoy for the afternoon. *Wednesday-Cupecoy(southern section in am-lots of sand here today) Can you tell we like this beach? North end in the afternoon. *Thursday-day off from the beach-too much sun(sorry Bob & Sue-we were supposed to meet you but we just had to stay out of the sun for a day!) Explored Marigot. *Friday-back to Orient for the day. *Saturday-RAIN *Did I mention RUM?!?! *The quiet solitude at the Summit. *Happy Hour at the Kissing Fish. *Breakfast with Chloe & Thierry at the Kissing Fish. *Sunset Beach Bar. *The Wharf. *BANANA'S. *Bakery/pastry shop in Marigot. *Baywatch. *The RAINBOW on Monday night during Happy Hour at Kissing Fish. *Peg Leg Pub *All of the great people that we met: Ed & Anne, Bob & his wife from CA(TTOL member #4), Brian & Deb(PECONIC), the girls from RI, Bob & Sue from NH, Scott & Suzanne, the owners of Banana's(Bob?), Elvis & his wife(the Wharf), and all of the others whose names are escaping me at the moment. *Meeting Barb's mom in Manhattan on Sunday evening and finding out on Monday afternoon that she is CANCER FREE!!!!! A truly great ending to a wonderful trip!
DISAPPOINTMENTS: *Not making it to Harmony Nights or any of the fine Grand Case restaurants(did I mention RUM). *missing the TTOL party on Wednesday(see RUM above). *getting absolutely DRENCHED while standing on the AA boarding stairs Sunday afternoon-I was so wet I could ring the water out of my underwear!!!!! (Had NOTHING to do with the RUM!)
WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!!!!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" />
