It was an AWESMOME party, if we do say so ourselves! Full of surprises!

Bernard and Elvis, the owners of The Wharf, are the consummate hosts. They provided us with everything they promised and more! Thank You, Thank You and Thank You from alll of your new and old TTOL friends.

The appetizers were delicious and plentiful. Large platters of freshly made buffalo wings, mozzerella sticks, two types of pizza, and conch fritters were served. The food was definitely [color:"red"] HOT , not lying around waiting for us to show up. No sooner did the large group of TTOLers swoop in and feast on all of the above when it was gone! But The Wharf was ready for us! The kitchen swiftly replenished the platters often during the 2 hours.

Bernard was extemely accomodating...when he accidently overheard that one of our guests had a special dietary need and could not eat any of the appetizers that were provided, Bernard unceremoniously went into the kitchen and came out with a shrimp cocktail. This was above and beyond anyone's expectations! The guest did not request nor expect any special treatment...they were happy to be at the party with the rest of us. Needless to say, the guest was happily taken by surprise with Bernard's thoughtfulness!

We had another unexpected effort on behalf of The Wharf. When Bernard found out that Matt and Lizette were celebrating their honeymoon with us he went out of his way to think of something appropriate to make their evening one they wouldn't soon forget! So, early on in the evening The Wharf presented Matt and Lizette with a [color:"pink"] COLOSSAL sized cocktail in a humongous martini glass with two straws Although it took them the better part of 2 hours, they did manage to finish the whole thing with just a little help from Sara, a new TTOL friend. Everyone wished Matt and Lizette much happiness! We hope they got home safely!

Thanks to the numerous and efficient waitstaff, no one had to stand in line at the bar to order and wait for their drinks. The waitstaff pleasantly and efficiently took everyone's drink order and delivered it to them wherever they were. Thank you Stacy, Jessica and everyone else for making our party a night to remember.

Matthew, the bartender, was extremely professional and proficient. He handled everyone's drink order efficiently. He is also extremely accomodating. There is now a special apple martini with my name on it. Although I did have to order a few before he got it ABSOLUTely perfect!
So if you like your apple martini a little sweet (vanilla Absolut, apple pucker, triple sec and peach schnaps) be sure to ask Mathew for the "Kathy martini".

The Wharfers were very entertaining. They are the house band and perform every night of the week. Many TTOLers enjoyed dancing to their music and singing along with them.

On Sunday nights there is an added attraction. The Wharf has a Limbo dancer who perfoms on the caliber of any Las Vegas show. So if you are in SXM on a Sunday night around 8:30 make a reservation to have dinner. You won't be sorry!

The Wharf had an additional surprise for our entertainment! The hired a body painter especially for us. The body painter, Jane, is usually at The Wharf on Sunday nights but they thought we would enjoy her artwork, so they brought her back for us the very next night!
Jane is accustomed to working at the TTOL Parties on Orient Beach at Cheryl and Andy's Baywatch and couldn't believe how sedate our party was in comparison. As Jane puts it...there isn't a body part she hasn't painted at one of our TTOL Parties at Baywatch!!!
At our party the most riske part of the body that was painted was the small of someone's back. Jane painted a gorgeous butterfly. wrists, forearms, ankles, hands, shoulders, upper arms, etc. were the most evident parts of the body. Men and women did take advantage of Jane's talents and during the week her artwork could be seen all over the island as many of us met up with each other! Jane this one's for you!

The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful. The view from the dining area is gorgeous! It is of the lagoon and the beautiful mega yachts are moored just a stone's throw away! The restaurant is styled as if it were a colorful creole house! It is awash in beautiful Island colors. The lighting twinkles and makes it a very fun place to be.

If anyone is considering making a TTOL Party, you cannot go wrong in choosing The Wharf as your venue. They can accomodate small parties and extremely large ones. The location on the lagoon brings in the breezes and it is an extremely comfortable restaurant to be in.

About a third of us stayed to enjoy dinner.

On two occassions, Harold throughly enjoyed the shrimp fettuccine in a pink sauce. One night Kathy had a 3 pound grilled lobster that she would only let Harold taste because it was so sweet, succulent and delicious! That lobster complimented by a Kathy apple martini was truely a meal to be remembered! On the other night, Kathy had a grilled tuna steak with salad! Also very good! Our compliments to the chef!

So in closing we just want to repeat our accolades for The Wharf and its owners Bernard and Elvis and staff. We can't believe they got their act together so quickly. It is hard to believe they are only open since September, '04. They are very, very professional, personal and accomodating!

On behalf of all of the 48 TTOLers who attended the party, we thank you very, very much for your efforts on our behalf and wish you and The Wharf continued success!
