For those of us especially from the "left coast" who arrive in St Thomas to late to ferry. We have stayed at many STT hotels but recently have found Villa Olga to be very reasonable, well located in French Town, and fun. Hope this post might bring other suggestions as well.

We loved Island View the one time we stayed there - very affordable and friendly.
