Does contact lens solution count as medications? I can't find any of the kind I use, Bio Tru, is anything less than a 4oz. bottle. TSA web page says medications that exceed the 3.4oz. limit are allowed but must be declared at security. I would hate to have to check a bag and have it get lost or delayed. Input appreciated. Is it May yet?

It would be a PITA to use, but you COULD buy one of those refillable bottles that is less than 3.4 oz and transfer some of your solution into that. I'm not familiar with that brand of solution--is it something that is medically required for you, or could you just switch out and use another brand for a week or two?

Bio Tru may be a fairly new product. It was recommended by my optician and my eye doctor, who also uses it. It is not a perscription product. I only use contacts when snorkeling, so I don't need a quart bottle, lol. 4oz is not much more than 3.4oz. I still have a couple of months (darn it) to try and fiqure this out. Biotrue is from Bausch & Lomb, and I believe it's intended to replace Renu, their older product. I still use Renu, and it is available in 2 ounce (60 ml) containers. Got a new pair of lenses and they included a 2oz bottle of
"Revitalens"
Don't know why other brands sell 4oz travel sizes
Curious as to your dates
Ellen and I met you and your very tolerant wife last year
and wondered if our paths would cross.
We will be down the last week of April and the first week of May

BVI/VG dates are 4/30 to 5/19, then over to Tortola for a couple of days. Anyone that wants to meet up or have an island tour,...hey...we are there and know where to go...and...alas, it is not yet May... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />

OK, it sounds like to me you should just get something else that comes in the proper size smaller bottle and use that while you are down island. Contact lens solution in general isn't rocket science, just something to clean and store lenses.

My daughter declares her contact lens solution at security. No problem. They ask her some questions and occasionally do the explosives swab test. TSA has FAQs on this.
