Can't make it to SXM our regular time this June, but might try to get down for 2 or 3 weeks starting middle of Oct. I realize this is toward the end of hurricane season, so would get trip ins, but otherwise is it overly hot and humid? The other possibility would be to start the weekend after Thanksgiving. Thanks.

We go the 1st 2 weeks of November. It's warmer than in March, MUCH less windy. The water is warmer too. It's not that humid. I wouldn't say it's overly hot, but when it is warm, you get in the water to cool off.

October is pretty active part of the hurricane season. This year Hurricane Gonzalo hit in October 12 or 13Th. Can't remember exactly, and destroyed over 100 boats. One person was killed and it was a big mess on the island for more than a few days. If there is no hurricane, it's great in October.

We visit almost every year the weekend after Thanksgiving for two weeks and as a rule, we have wonderful weather every trip. There was a trip a while back where they had a day or two of rain and many of the low areas flooded out but it didn't last long and I think that's the exception rather than the rule based on our experiences over a lot of trips. April will always be our favorite time of year on the island but over a lot of years the two weeks immediately following Thanksgiving have been pretty darned nice, too.

Weather in October is like the lottery. You could be a winner if you take your chances. Most often it is great, but you could get the occasional storm or more rain than usual.

Always been a winner in October. Our anniversary week is around the 22nd so we usually travel late in the month.
