What’d We Do –
Actually NOTHING!, and enjoyed every minute of it. Did ALOT of sitting around the pool and on Dawn Beach.
Weather was much more unpredictable. More clouds, more short showers, more wind than in past years. Everybody seemed to agree that weather was not usual.
Betty read four books.
Norm drove around and looked at Weston construction from three or so locations. Visited several Art Galleries, Greenwich in Phillipsburg, Dona Bryhiel and Les Exotiques Ceramics, both in Oyster Pond area. Several in Grand Case. Made a purchase at Exotiques.
Betty got Silver and Titanium earrings and matching slide from Hans Meevis Jewelry Studio.
She and daughter got white gold chains from DK Gems. She also got a pair of gold and Austrailian Opal earrings form DK Gems.
Liquior, including Ma Dou Dou($5.95 small bottle), Johnny Walker Black($18.95cash), Kahula($8.95 liter) at Rams on Front Street.
Evenings mostly found us at either The Atlantis or Princess Casinos. Tried the Dolphin, but again this year their AC was cranked on super high. Overall we lost, but Betty did win $100. playing penny and nickel slots at Atlantis one night. She also had her bonus ticket drawn at the Princess and got to spin the “Big Wheel”. Missed $1000. but two notches and had to settle for $100.
Enjoyed Happy Hour at St Maarten Yacht Club watching the “boats” come in and go out. Met Steve and Maria, residents of Colorado, who are spending two years cruising the Caribbean. Only deadline is to be back in Florida by June…. or July….
Visited Harmony Night in Grand Case the second Tuesday of our stay. Very well attended. Lots of artists and food vendors. Certainly bigger than last year. Still alot of fun and interesting.
I attended the hearing in the downtown courthouse in support of Joan from Ms B’s. She is being sued and harassed by Peyton Cromwell, Remax agent, and his Duck International, Ltd group. They are building the Coral Beach Condos on Dawn Beach directly behind her. They feel the beach in front of them is their property. They along with Busby’s are arranging so that there will be NO parking spaces for those wanting to visit Dawn Beach. Yes, there will be walking access, but no place to park your car. The whole hearing was conducted in Dutch, so I really couldn’t get exactly what was said by the Judge. However, the words “shoreline” and “Traveltalkonline” were mentioned in English in the presentation by lawyers. Apparently no Dutch translation for these words. The Judge says Ms B’s has a right to be there, but urged the parties to meet and see if a compromise couldn’t be worked out to prevent further lawsuits. I have doubts that anything can be worked out,.....but that's just my opinion.
