Just got back. Had a great time. This is probably our 10th visit to Key West. Typically have stayed at The Gardens, Marquesa or Simonton Court. This was our second visit to Marreros. We like Marreros because of its clothing optional pool area. The location is great too. Right behind Buffet's Margaritaville.

Key West we found to be more expensive than ever. St. Martin prices. That was surprising. Other than that, all was the same. Same great restaurants and bars. Daily routine consisted of breakfast by pool, sit in pool, go for lunch, sit in pool, go for dinner, sleep. Rewind, play.

Restaurant reviews:

La Trattoria : Had their grouper and crab special. Paesano salad appetizer. Both were excellent. Dinner.

Mangoes : Thin crust pizza. Fantastic! Dinner (they are also open for lunch).

Finnegan's Wake : Went for lunch. The fries are worth the visit.

Hot tin Roof: Caesar salads, lobster bisque and chicken were the hits. The cup of gumbo with side of seafood for $38 was a big disappointment. The location can't be beat. Watch the sunset while dining. Dinner. We'll be back.

A&B Lobster House: This in our opinion, is the best restaurant in Key West for dinner. Great seafood.

Conch Republic Seafood: Great lunch. Love their Grilled Dolphin entree at lunch. Ask for Royal Red shrimp if they are in season. Never seems to be on the menu, but they have them. If you catch fish, they will cook it for you. 3 way is available.

Cafe Sole : This was our worst dinner ever, second to Seven Fish. Six of us agreed never to go back. Two out of our party got sick. The locals pack in the place. Don't ask me why. The food was horrible, and that review was before the illnesses.

Turtle Kraals: Great lunch. Owned by the same folks as A&B. They even had stone crab claws for a reasonable price. Tasty too.

Went deep sea fishing on "Time Out". Recommend them highly. Can be found at the A&B Marina in front of Commodores restaurant.

Happy travels,
Loretta
