Can you not do a spay tan in Canada before you leave?

Or a tanning booth before you leave?

Not sure there would be enough time to get a tan in a booth. They would have to start gradually to get a base tan, and be careful not to over expose. Took me about a month to safely get a good base tan, and I don't have a pale complexion.
The spray tan won't offer any protection from the sun, but I'm sure they want to "look" tan. I can understand not wanting to look like a light house beacon on the beach.

I suppose Your Mileage May Vary; I bare my lily-white butt with pride (and extreme caution) when I first get down there. Also, wouldn't a spray-tan, or even tanning salon, anywhere in the Caribbean be a little bit like bringing coal to Newcastle?

Come on people. The OP wanted help with a simple question. No one has given her an answer to it. Instead she has been pummeled with opinions about the wisdom of her question.

If we always limited ourselves to one-word answers this would be a very dull place.

I usually get a spray tan before I leave the US and then bring the self tanning towlettes with me. I know the spray tan wears off after even a day on the beach and exposure to sand. I use the self tanner at night after a shower and exfoliating. That will make your spray tan last most of the week.
