Johnny is not "under the tree" anymore. His restaurant is now called Jack Fish and is located in the market area in Simpson Bay across from the police station.

And for whatever it is worth that is a darn shame... Our first trip to the island that was not on a cruise we heard about Johnny's Under the Tree, found it, and spent 3 or 4 hours... For the first time we really understood what being on an Island was really about.... We can find fine restaurants anywhere.. But sitting on a park bench, under the tree, with Christmas lights hanging around... while barbeques was smoking... visiting with the locals.... we really miss it

And sadly, not doing a lot of business. There are only 2 or 3 restaurants/booths even open in that market area.

He had a booth at Heineken Regatta but when I went by the other place a couple of times, he was not busy.

We got take out chicken and stuff from him a few weeks ago. It wasn't up to his former quality "under the tree" and he had only one other customer.

Not sure what happened but the draw is not what it once was.

Maybe Captain D's is getting the business. They have great take out there.
