WOW - We loved SXM. Just arrived back on April 9th. Thanks again to all of you who provided such valuable info.
Air Transit - I can see why Club Class is the way to go they really jam you into those seats.
Sonesta Maho - Great location, no complaints really. The beach is very small but we enjoyed watching the planes. Our room was great, the food average, drinks were just fine :>)
Mullet Bay - Love, love, love it. We spent three full days there paying Frankie $20us for 3 lounge chairs and 2 umbrellas each day. The water was great,much better for swimming. Corona at $2us isn't bad either.
Orient Beach - Our day at Orient was a lot of fun as well.
Met Andy and Cheryl at Baywatch - we had drinks only but will definitely be back for lunch. Andy had just received
some new plates and was showing them off. Nice people.
Phillipsburg - What a great spot, we loved the shopping, or
should I say my husband and friend loved the shopping they made out like bandits while I did much better in the Maho area. We went into town on a day when only 2 cruise ships
were there so it wasn't too bad.
Food - Well we did go AI and it really worked well for us.We
did have a wonderful dinner at Paris Bistro which was part of the Dine Around through the Hotel. We also did the burger thing at SSBB (my husband just loved this spot)
Cheris Cafe was so much fun and dessert there was great.
So was the "Sweet Chocolate Band" that played each night.
Weather - We had 3 days where the rain fell for maybe 10 min
all 3 were late afternoon when sand gravity and the gin and tonic hit so you didn't really care.
Transportation - We decided to not rent a car. We had a wonderful island tour with a young man who was recommended,
he was very informative and lots of fun. We also took the local bus for $1.50 each way.
Next Trip - There are many thing we did not get to do this time around so we will continue to read TTOL and start planing our next trip to beautiful SXM.
