Where is the best place you've watched a sunrise on island?

On my balcony at La Vista Beach. I can't actually see the sunrise from there, but watching the sky turn from black to red to blue is almost as good. And I don't have to drive anywhere to see it!

We've never gotten up in time and it's something we would like to experience this visit. Just wondering where the best spots are.

Where do you stay? Orient Beach faces East, so I would think that's the best spot. We face South, so have the best of both, although the hillside blocks our sunrise view. We have a gorgeous sunset view though. I'm always up before sunrise, and enjoy my coffee watching my little piece of the island awaken.

Shouldn't "Dawn Beach" should have a good view of the sunrise??? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> Actually, I think it was named after something else, but you should have a good view of the sunrise from Dawn Beach..

"Where is the best place you've watched a sunrise on island?"

Please allow me to digress for a second as I sit at my desk watching an amazing sunset light up the Virginia sky with its magnificent orange glow.

Sunrises are our thing, we are morning people and usually wake before the crack of dawn. We recently stayed at Nettle Bay Beach Club and had a mountain blocking the horizon line, but for us that only added to the amazing show!

Took an early morning drive to a point high above Orient and enjoyed the show from a different vantage point, perfect!

Now, if not "on island" and you want to see something completely over the top, then wake up on a boat and see what you will see! It's all about who you are with and that you take the time to watch it all unfold!

When we stayed on Orient Beach, we always got up early to watch the sunrise. Absolutely amazing from there. We have seen a few sun rises on the Dutch side, but nothing as spectacular!

From St Peters atop a hill in the middle of the Dutch side.. You can see 360 around the island.

From Bush Road up LB Scott Road. anywhere in that area has great view but the best is take a left towards St Peters and up to Concordia Hill or Marigot Hill.
