Maybe they thought there were enough locals/yacht people needing a shopping venue..
It would not be in my top 100 things to do on Island

kim said: There are people that live on the island. exactly...and not just expats that go back back and forth between the US all the time...there are those that were born and raised on the island, and maybe never had a chance to go to a US mall...it's the same thing when tourists complain about american fast food places...YOU may not want to eat at McDonald's/KFC/BK,etc. during your handful of days on the island, but maybe some of those who spend their entire lives on the island might want to enjoy the same places that millions of americans do when they're home...if tourists AND locals had no interest in going to these places, i'm sure they'd shut down
