Just back. US Airways from Cincinnati to Charlotte to Aruba. Stayed at Divi Village. Met some new couples. Did not climb the haystack this time. Weather was great. Ate several times at Cleo's at the Alhambra Casino. Met waiter Oscar, who was friendly and efficient and had memories of the latin players who played on the Red's "Big Red Machine". Made a little money at blackjack. Watched others lose big time at roulette. Wife did not win the slots tournement this time ( she won last time we went ). Ate at the Sunset Bistro at Divi Phoenix, which I recommend. Also ate at the French steakhouse at the Manchebo Resort. Excellent pianist (sounded a little like the late Bill Evans). Spent most of my time on the various beaches. At long last I made it to Dos Playa, as I took a diffent route to the Arakok National Park. Worth the struggle to get there, but unfortunately I set my digital camera down on the beach and a huge, unexpected wave picked up my camera, set it back down again, but disabled it, permanently I'm afraid. I hope the pictures can be pulled off the disk. I successfully battled a 3.5 foot iguana for my hamburger, on the tame side of the island, but had to lead it off the beach with the remainder of my burger. We renewed acquaintances with Bill and Sharon of Cleveland, and met a couple from Toronto. Weather was great. People were kind and traffic tough downtown. Visited Boca Grande, Baby Beach, Eagle Beach and Palm Beach. Passed the California Lighthouse, but took no pictures there. Left Saturday. Get to the airport 3.5 hours ahead of time or you will regret it. If our plane had not been one hour late, we would not have made it. I have never seen so many people at the airport!! Great trip.
