We are looking for a 1 BR rental, with a private pool area in the Cruz Bay area. We like to be able to walk to dinner, and she likes to lay out with getting tan lines. Our budget is pretty loose 4-500 per night, or less. Can anyone recommend a good place, or a rental agency? Thanks!

Sounds like the kind of places we like, For no tan lines privacy you're going to need a villa. Close to Cruz Bay are Great Cruz Bay, Chocolate Hole, Devers Bay and Hart Bay with western exposure and sunsets. We have rented through Caribbean Villas, VIVA Vacations, Destination St. John, Island Getaways and VRBO. A lot of places on St. John with more than 1BR have graduated pricing based on how many bedrooms you are using, so look at 2BR+ too.
One villa we like that suits you is Island Time through Caribbean Villa,

We like Over the Rainbow when we are traveling as a couple. It is a two bedroom, but totally in your price range. It sits above Reef Bay and is private. Only drawback is you can't walk into town.
