Day 5! How did that happen? That leaves only seven more beach days. We had better get to work on maximizing our (p)leisure time. Of course, that pun only works if you pronounce leisure in the British manner. Oh, well...

D&M left today, which means that the evening discussions might be a little tamer. We shall have to see what can be done to compensate for their absence.

Breakfast came and went (in that order, as usual) and then we were beach bound. Our beach day followed its usual uneventful course, of snoozing, bobbing, swimming, reading and then it was 1PM and time for lunch. In addition to gravity being stronger down here because of all the sand, there seems to be some anomaly in the space-time continuum because time moves much faster than it does at home. Should any billionaires out there care to provide the funding, I'm willing to stay here to conduct research. It should take a minimum of five years but accumulating enough empirical data is likely to take 2-3 decades. It will be a tough go but I'm willing to step up to the challenge.

Our post-beach day was a little subdued. A walk back down to The Village saw us splitting a pizza at Le Piment then buying a bottle of Chinon rouge for tomorrow's lunch on the beach and a couple of ice cream bars. We walked back up hill eating ice cream Twix bars and stopping every so often to look at the stars and smooch like the pair of superannuated teenagers that we are. Our alcohol intake was fairly low today, so the spare liver that we keep on ice in case of emergencies is still on standby. Tomorrow, maybe.
