I understand our favorite beach bars will be closed.

What are our options?

Three of our favorites also will be closed. Fortunately, our other 2 favorites, Papagayo & Perch Bar will still be open.

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.

Pedros will remain open during the construction. Always get a great meal with their ribs and chicken

LaPlaya, Waikiki, Palm -- all good and large beach area, food, bar, bathrooms.

Yellow Sub should be open for a casual lunch. Probably a lot less expensive than some of the larger beach restaurants.

The Perch has good grilled shrimp, chicken, ribs and burgers and Papagayo is one of our favorites for lunch. Both in front of Club O. Both very casual.

I would check out Orient Village for who is open at lunch. I suspect that some of the restaurants there may be open for lunch during that time period that previously have not been. As far as cheap eats on the beach, if you're not comfortable with the Perch or Papagayo, it's pretty much Pedro's, which I expect is going to be jammed. Some of the bigger places do offer pizza and other light options for lunch though, like Kakao and Palm Beach, for instance, so you may not be so bad off. Palm Beach in particular has free chairs if you eat and drink there, so that may be a good option also.

As I've said before, I don't know what will happen in terms of the BEACH itself in these areas. Will people be able to bring their own chairs (and food and drinks) and put them in the areas where those restaurants were, or is the beach going to be cordoned off? I guess no one will know until it actually happens. IF you can bring your own chairs, or if you are OK with being on the Club O beach, you can always bring your own food and drinks and do quite well!

Construction should be starting soon. (but who knows with the local French government?) Talked to a couple of the existing restaurant owners a couple of weeks ago and all said they would be out on business for the summer with some leaving the Island for the summer.

All of the restaurants on CO property will not be impacted and should be open. They all have excellent food!

Interesting. What is on the buffet?

Waikiki's buffet has a decent salad bar, along with seafood, pasta, chicken, pork and rice dishes. I thought the quality and freshness was good for buffet food, but some of the hot dishes were warm. Drinks are extra.

OK, thanks. I am normally not at all a buffet fan, but this might be interesting.

I am missing something. What construction ? What is going to change? Sorry if it is a stupid question.

Since we spend multiple beach days at the Club O end, we wouldn't mind lunch at the Perch or Papagayo. But we always look for something on the menu above and beyond the usual burgers, chicken, ribs.

If Chery and Orange fever are closed, where can we get comparable mussels, tuna, buffalo margarita shrimp?

I've actually never seen buffalo margarita shrimp anywhere but Andy and Cheryl's. The other two should be easy to find at one of the other places along the beach.

Just FYI, while we are fans of Palm Beach it is a good mile down the beach. Agree that Yellow Sub would be one of the few inexpensive options (aside from Perch which has the CO thing).
