I will try to keep this short and sweet and to the point. First of all we had a great time and the weather was fantastic. As everyone always says "don't believe the reports you read before you leave." It never rains 70% of the time every day you are there. On Sat thru Mon we had winds that made me think of Aruba. It kept you cooler. The rest of the days were just the way I always expect it. Warm and humid.

Flights: AA 667 down was late taking off but we were only 15 minutes late arriving. AA 660 back was about 2 hrs late but we never found out why. Will try to get some miles out of them for the inconvienence.

Beaches: Dawn on Sunday and as I said we had the Aruba wind so it was the roughest I had ever seen it. Spent the day in front of Busby's. Friars on Monday and spent the day in front of Kali's. Mullet on Tuesday. Thursday and Friday. For all the years we have gone to SXM we never came here. Drove thru the complex and thought with the place a shambles why would I want to stop at the beach. Mistake!!! I think it became my new favorite. Spent all 3 days in front of Delaos. Great time. Don't do what we did. Don't miss this beach.

Food: Saturday we thought we would eat a light lunch so we stopped at Ric's. At this light lunch we ate so much we did not eat dinner. Sunday we made our first ever trip to Uncle Harry's. It will not be the last. Great food. Fairly reasonable and Amazin Grace said she had the best pork chops she had ever eaten. Monday we made our first ever trip to Halseys and it will be the last. Service was fine but we paid New York prices for an OK meal. Tuesday was another first. The Wharf. I can not say enough. We had a great time and a great meal. Let me tell you how this came about. After dinner at Halseys we were walking looking for a place to listen to music. We past Lee's because the band there was on a break. We heard music at The Wharf and went in. Two pieces with a Rhythem Master. These guys were great. Met Elvis the owner who was a fantastic guy. Checked out the menu and decided we would try it on Tuesday. Glad we did. Wednesday we went to Tutta Pasta. We had been there a few times in the past and were never disappointed. Until this time. Don't know if anything changed there but it was truly mediocre. Thursday was another first and last. Los Gouchos at Pelican. We did not make it to their spot in Phillipsburg but had heard so much about it. All good. I don't know what happened in the move but my meat was tough and so was Graces. The service basically did not exist. Another never again. We have always gone to Rancho in Simpson Bay and never been disappointed. Friday, as has become a tradition on our last night, meant The Hideaway at La Vista. We love this spot. The food is great and the setting overlooking the pool is romantic. If you have never tried this place you are missing something.

Notes: Thanks to Caribgal(Kathy) for the party at BBB on Saturday. Had a great time. And an apology to SXMgal (Rhonda) for missing Fridays party. As I said before Friday tradtion means The Hideaway and by the time we got out of there and stopped by BBB we must have missed everyone.

Guess it was a bit longer then intended but like everyone else I just got carried away. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/typing.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/typing.gif" alt="" /> 355days til our next trip
