Saturday April 28th

We are up at 4am for 5am limo pickup. Limo Company calls at 5:15 and says they are not coming. We jump in 2 cars and drive to Newark Airport. We had to park as far away as possible to keep the price down ($240.00 total for both cars). Our plane leaves right on time and we are in San Juan by noon. We then get a couple of beers and wait for our 2:15 flight o Beef. Flight leaves San Juan on time and we are ion Tortola at 2:45. Clear customs and get picked up in a taxi for our ride to Jerry’s Car Rentals. JC meets us at Jerry’s to get are car and then I follow him to Gun Point. The road from Sopers to GP was interesting. I’ m glad that wasn’t my car taken that beating. We arrive at GP and are amazed at how beautiful it was. JC takes us around and shows us everything. We get wings and pizza from Pusser’s and a couple of case of beer and spend the rest of the night marveling at the view.

Sunday April 29th,

I cracked the first Caribe at a little before 8 am. Pinky had breakfast ready to go (Eggs, bacon and pancakes) at 9. Spent the day eating and drinking around the pool and Smugglers Cove. Gun Point has a private path to Smugglers but it is pretty rocky once you get to Smugglers. The snorkeling off of Gun Point was excellent. We saw Turtles, Nurse Sharks, Manta Rays, huge Tarpon and a mom and baby dolphin. I swam within about a foot off the baby before mom cut me off. I am not one off those idiots who would have touched the baby but I don’t think the mom was willing to take that chance. Had to make our second provision run of the week ($240.00).Dinner was a mixture of all of our Omaha Steak supplies.

Monday April 30th,

Same as Sunday including another provisions run ($240.00). Man we drink a lot of beer. Dinner was a mixture of all of our Omaha Steak supplies.

Tuesday May 1st,

Breakfast by Pinky and then off to our boat for the daysail. We chartered the Aristocat for the day. Our first stop was Sandy Spit (good snorkeling). On the way to the next stop (White Bay) we hit a major rain storm. We could not see Tortola for at least a half in hour. Jump into the heavy surf and somehow get to Ivan’s. Have one drink and decided to go back to the boat. The swim back was hellacious. It took all of my strength to get myself and on e of my not so good swimming crew members back. I thought I was gonna drown in that chop. The captain didn’t even check to see if we needed any help. He had a little boat on the back but didn’t want to take it down. We did another stop but I was to tired to care about the snorkeling (Dolphin). After that, the sun reappeared and we had a great sail back to Sopers. I am not one to complain but I will not go back to Aristocats. Gun Point had arranged our dinner. Sasha from Blue Iguana came down and made us a fabulous dinner (Fresh Caesar salad, Wahoo and Key Lime Pie). I was still exhausted so I crashed at 9.

Wednesday May 2nd,

We went into town for some fishing gear and to do some shopping. Had a couple of beers at Pusser’s and went back. Relaxed and killed off the rest of the beer. Dinner was a mixture of all of our Omaha Steak supplies. I drove us down to the Full Moon Party. It was a good time and the band wasn’t half bad. We went home around 11 and crashed.

Thursday May 3rd

We went back for more provisions ($138.00). and just spent the day at the pool relaxing. Snorkeled the point and saw a bunch of large Tarpon and not much else. The pelicans were dive bombing all around us so we got out. We have dinner reservations at The Brandywine. We order our appetizers and all of a sudden I feel like I am going to pass out (I realize that my torso was quite sunburned). I go out an lay on Davide’s terrace and start praying that I wont puke all over his establishment. I don’t want to ruin my friend’s dinner so I go out and lay in the truck until they are done. Needless to say, I was quite pissed at myself for missing the fantastic looking dinner. I wore a reef shirt for the whole trip except for about an hour Thursday morning. That was all it took to burn me up. I am still peeling as I write this report.

Friday May 4th

We have another great Pinky breakfast and head off to catch the ferry to The Bath’s. We take the trail and do some snorkeling and than head to Mad Dogs for the much anticipated Pina Colada’s. The power is out so no Pina Colada’s. We grab the ferry back to Tortola and have lunch at Pusser’s Road Town. We spend the rest of the day and night killing off the food and beer.

Saturday May 5th,

I take the last of my many pictures (the pelicans are posing nicely this morning) We say goodbye to Pinky and JC and grab the very last of the beer for the ride to the airport. It only takes an hour and 10 minutes to get checked in (12 couples in line). We head over to the Trellis Bay CyberCafe for an excellent lunch of fish sandwiches and beer. We hop on the unbelievably hot airplane and fly to Puerto Rico.We connect to Newark and are at our friends house having a beer by 11:00pm.

Sunday May 6th,

Say goodbye to friends and head back to downtown Greensboro.

New website to follow.
