Just a quick report on our wonderful BVI trip. We started out on a Moorings Signature charter on Bacon in the Sun - a new 4600 cat. We couldn't stop saying WOW all week. The boat is beautiful - we loved the A/C even though we had to use blankets at night! This was our first time on a cat and we'll never charter a monohull again. It's so ideal for families. This was also our first time with a crew and we felt so spoiled and well taken care of all week. Patric and Mary were so professional, friendly and generous. They added so much to our enjoyment of the trip. Patric made several stops a day for us and we know if we'd been bareboating we would've made one stop a day since each stop means work! He prepared a different cocktail everyday for us as we waited to be served spectacular dinners by Mary. Mary performed miracles everyday in the galley from homemade cheesecake, tiramisu, apple crisp to coq au vin, roast duck and saffron prawns. She even baked a chocolate cake for my husband on his birthday! We hated to get off the boat but luckily they dropped us off at LDB for the next week. What a nice resort. The staff is very friendly, the setting is beautiful and there are lots of water activities. The spa is excellent. We stayed in a 4BR villa on the hill with spectacular views and nice breezes. It was very roomy a perfect for us after a week on a boat.
The only downside was the 28 hours it took us to get to Beef Island and the 18 it took to go home - and you guessed it, we flew on American all the way.
