Our first trip to the BVI’s was a blast!!!! Ten days of pure fun!!!!

Here’s how it went:

June 18th - Got up at 2:30 to be at the airport for a 6:15AM flight. It was an un-eventful flight with connections in Miami and San Juan. Our crew of 6 arrived at Tortola around 4:00PM . TMM taxi was waiting for us. Off to TMM’s base to get checked in on the S/V Delfino Bianco. All paper work completed and then we were off to Bobbie’s for provisions. After Bobbie’s, we went to the Pub for dinner. Great meal. Met Evan, better known as Sail2wind. TMM staff was great.

June 19th – All safety and chart briefings completed, we were off of the dock by about 11:30am. First stop the Indians. Great snorkeling. Off to the Bight for the night. Burgers on the grill with dessert at Pirates later.

June 20th – Two tank dive with Bluewater Divers started the day off. We dove Pelican Island and the cove just outside of the Bight. Besides the usual reef fish, we saw barracuda, squid, turtles, and lobster. After the dive we went to the outside of Norman Island to troll on our way to Cooper. No luck fishing.

June 21st- Another two tank dive with Bluewater Divers. We dove Ginger Island and Round Rock. Again an amazing two dives. Off from Cooper to Trellis Bay to pick up my niece. Dinner at the Da Loose Mongoose. Great BBQ. My niece ran into a bunch of her friends from when she worked at Sail Caribbean. Late night.

June 22nd – Off to the Baths. Could have spent all day, but Friday Night BBQ at Leverick Bay was calling. I cannot say enough good things about Nick and his crew at Leverick Bay. They made us feel right at home. Dinner was great and we danced the night away. The next morning the boys showered in the phone booth.

June 23rd – Off to Anegada. Caught the biggest fish the whole week while trolling – the Yacht Shots dinghy!!!!! We got to Anegada about 11:30. Off to Lobllolly Beach for a pasta salad picnic and snorkeling. Great lobster dinner that night at the Anegada Reef Hotel.

June 24th – Long beautiful sail to Sandy Cay and then Cane Garden Bay. Dinner at Myett’s.

June 25th – Put my niece in a taxi to catch her flight to Phoenix. We were off to Great Harbour, Sopers Hole and then to the Bight.

June 26th- Off the ball to see the Caves and then back to the Bight. Went to Willy T.

June 27th – Sail back to TMM. Arrived about 2:00PM. Taxi to Rhymer's Beach Hotel for the night. Myett’s for dinner.

June 28th – Long day flying home. 10 hour layover in Miami due to missed connection.

Highlights:

Every day sailing, the two days of diving, Leverick Bay (all four teenagers said this is a must stop), lobster in Anegada.

Low spots:

Taxi from Cane Garden Bay to the Airport $108 for 6 people, flight home, having to go home.

Cannot wait to go back
