I used to think that February was "high season" but any more it seems like it has slipped to March or even April. What do you all think? When is the island the most busy and does it vary Dutch to French?

Technically, I think the 'high' season is still Dec 15 thru April 15 with the shoulder season starting November 15th and extending through April 30th. Lesley, if you're out there and I'm wrong, please correct me. And obviously there are the higher weeks of high season which include Christmas the the Jewish religious celebrations, along with Presidents Week in February, Regatta in March and Easter whenever it falls.

With regard to when is the busiest time of year and which side is the busiest - I think that is pretty much the same for both sides of the island and encompasses all of the high season time frame including U.S. thanksgiving and really depends on how the holidays fall from year to year.

Again, are you out there, Lesley? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

I found this year while searching for a place to stay that more and more places are taking high season back into November and calling Thanksgiving a busy holiday time. This allows them to increase their rates.

We have found in the past few years that November can be just as busy as Feb/March.

I booked through VRI and had to use by 10/30/15 as 11/1/15 started high season and all reservations were off <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

I've noticed a few places on VBRO that have had their high season rate starting December 1st for a few years. There are enough places out there that adhere to the December 15th date for me to select from.
