I stopped swaying as if on our boat today so I thought I should write a trip report to help the BVIs stay alive for another few days. <br>My family has sailed the BVIs with the Moorings for several years now. This was the first year in the summer and it was great!![Linked Image][Linked Image] Several people have written fabulous trip reports lately so I will be short.<br>The Moorings is a fabulous company to rent from and the new base is beautiful secondary to a renovation after a fire.<br>Our yacht was "different". Built by Dufour it is a monohull with the galley up top like a catamaran. I really loved it even though it looked strange. The ease of cooking and getting on and off were worth it. My husband even enjoyed the sailing.<br>One or two new things--- the summer weather was perfect--a little warm inlate afternoon. The water is warm and the snorkling great due to the clear water. No bugs, no jellyfish. Our second night was at Prickly Pear where we snorkled on the other side of the island. We had the beach to opurselves and the water was perfectly clear.<br>While in Virgin Sound we had dinner at the Lighthouse at Leverick Bay. This used to be a Pussers. We had a great dinner of fresh grouper Carribean stlye with a free bottle of wine and the $20.00 mooring fee was taken off the final bill. The owner came and took our picture which I downloaded from their website www.lighthousebvi.com. I was really pleased with the food. The other great meal out was Brandywine Bay. It is absolutely fabulous!![Linked Image][Linked Image]<br>Of course we moored one night at Cooper Island and had their incredibly wonderful conch fritters. I could (and did) make myself sick eating the fritters. The water was very clear at Cooper also with fabulous snorkleing out at the rock point (name I cannot recall). During our morning briefing at the Moorings Julian strongly dicouraged anchoring at Cooper and sure enough that night not one boat was anchored. The balls were not all occupied untill about 5pm which I thought very unusual.<br>No other big news. We saw lots of turtles and a giant ray in the channel. Things did not seem crowded to me.<br>Have a great trip to all ya'll heading out.
