First - 2 days there & 2 days home (an overnight in Puerto Rico both ways) doesn't leave nearly enough time to enjoy the island & relax fully. We travelled with 3 boys - and they were AMAZING through all the flights, but.....(Next time we'll take 2 weeks instead of 10 days)
Fri - We arrived at noon on VG - met Verlyn with Mahogany - and the villa rep - and make our way to Adagio. It was even more wonderful than in the pictures - and it was tough to pull ourselves away from it to do our grocery run. It was our youngest's seventh birthday - and he chose to just swim in the pool that evening. We spent the day getting settled, explored a bit, and got used to the left-hand driving. Beautiful day.
Sat - much of the same thing. We spent some time at Mahoe Bay snorkelling. We took each of the boys out in turn, one at a time. This was their first time - and they saw lots. We also discovered that the youngest sings when he snorkels. Funny that you can hear it underwater. "Mr. National Geographic" (our middle boy) also saw his first snake in the wild. He was so excited. This made his entire trip.
Sun - Norman Island with Capt. Roy of Atlantis Adventures BVI. What a day. He was wonderful with our kids - patient with the "reluctant ones" - and took our oldest (10yrs) into all 3 of the caves. Kids saw a turtle from the boat, and a sting ray in the Bight. Then we had a wonderful lunch at "Pirates" - and by then the kids had enough & we headed home. Spent the rest of the day just looking at the view off the balcony. We would "waste" more time doing this than we ever thought.
Mon - Anegada. We took the ferry (long story short - call them more than 15 hrs in advance). My husband had arranged to go fishing with Garfield for the day - and I "entertained" the kids until we met up again. We went on the shuttle offered by the ARH first to Loblolly, then to Cow Wreck for lunch, then back to ARH. We saw another sting ray off Cow Wreck. It was quite a stormy afternoon - with rough seas for our return. The kids had enough of boats for the rest of the trip.
Tues - Copper Mine Ruins - Brunch at Top of the Baths. We weren't going to do the baths just yet.......but we couldn't resist. What a breathtaking sight. We wished we had brought our snorkelling stuff, but figured we could return. Had another wonderful exploring day. Lizard count hit the eighties on this day. Had supper at Sugar Cane - super people - we would return.
