Sorry it took some time..but here it is.

Trip report - March Trip to the USVI

Day 1 - Took off from Phoenix, AZ area mid morning for our drive to Los Angeles. Very pleasant and uneventful. Navigated traffic and ended up having dinner in Manhattan Beach then headed to LAX. Flight out was just before 11pm on Spirit. Great prices for round trip (Thanks Carol for the heads up!!)
Day 2 - Arrived in Ft. Lauderdale mid morning for a 5 hour layover. Flight out arrived STT around 2pm. Grabbed a cab to Crown Bay marina, grabbed some groceries and libations and caught the Water Island Ferry. Our hosts from the Virgin Islands Campground were there to great us at the docks and takes us up to our tent cabin. We dropped off our stuff, grabbed some snorkeling gear and headed down to Honeymoon beach for a late afternoon snorkel. Saw a few fish and a Baracuda. Gathered a few Conch shells to examine. Headed back up to make some dinner and the hosts had prepared a Pina Colada and home made salsa and chips feast for the guests that were there. Very nice. Headed to bed pretty early tired of some long travel.
Day 3 - Awoke to take the early Ferry back over to STT. Grabbed a cab and headed to Coral World. We had a Snuba appointment and we had a blast. Hung out until early afternoon and headed back for dinner and cocktails at camp.
Day 4 - Got up and headed back to STT on the ferry. We met Rachael, this wonderful lady cab driver whom had been arranged for us by Joe with Scubadu. She gaves us a ride to the boat, with wonderful island commentary all the way. I can't say enough kind things about Rachael. We boarded Scubadu and headed out. We were underway but ended up motoring all day...there was literally no wind all day..flat as could be. We did some great snorkeling around St. John including an island that was a Pelican reserve(can't remember the name) and Leinster Bay. Joe cooked up an awesome lunch of carribean jerk chicken cesaer salad and chicken for the boys. Tom, his first mate, really made my boys feel comforatable and attentatively listened to all their stories and answered all their questions. It was a great day!
Day 5 - We didn't have a whole lot scheduled, but we headed over to St. John to explore. Ended up doing some snorkeling at Cinamon Bay but it was cloudy and we only had a short amount time to get back to make the ferry. We ducked out of some rain to have a snack near the ferry terminal and watched the downpour. Back to Water Island for a nice meal, drinks overlooking the lights. Very peaceful and relaxing.
Day - 6 Another Snuba Day. Back on the ferries to St. John. Did some great snorkeling at Trunk Bay, beautiful weather and just a wonderful day. The Snuba was great and the instructor suggested we get the boys (12 and 16) scuba certified (they started their class this week). Again...back for our last evening meal at camp and relaxation.
Day - 7 Travel day back. Ferry over to ST. Thomas, Rachael took us to the airport. Flight through Ft. Lauderdale and back to Los Angeles. Had a bad experience with our hotel that night (dirty, took almost an hour to check in..another story). Got up the next day, had an early lunch and headed back home.

Now counting down the days, only 22 to go, until our 2 week BVI trip including Anegada and Virgin Gorda! And the whole family will be Scuba Certified for this next trip.
