Thought I'd post this article on Marigot after the other conversation on here about the marina. This made me miss the Marigot of old. I hope the government can get it's stuff together and figure out a way to bring at least the marina back to it's former glory. But in the meantime, this writer proves that a good time can still be had there.

Angelface,

Nice article and ty for posting it. Pretty sure I'd not be as willing to meander at my leisure as was the subject of the post, but the situations described are so typical of the Marigot we first came to know thirty to forty years ago that I felt as though I was being transported to 'back in the day' one more time. Again, TY. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Respectfully,

Pat--my thoughts exactly regarding the author's meandering!! I was kind of nervous, just reading it.

Very nice article.
It opened to the picture of La Petite Auberge Des Iles, which was always our first dinner in SXM for years. We stopped after we couldn't keep our eyes open, after being up from 3 AM, and talking to Bruno till past closing. When they left SXM, it was definitely changed to somewhere close to where we stay.

I hope things improve soon. It was such a fun time there! Great atmosphere...

Thanks for posting <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/thanks.gif" alt="" />

Such a nicely written article. I still enjoy the marina - breakfast at La Croissanterie, lunch at La Belle Epoque (best pizza!), dinner at Tropicana, etc. But, we do go early for dinner, and hopefully find a close-by parking spot.

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.

Has anyone seen that food truck EUNICE UNIQUE BOKIT anywhere on SXM?

I don't know about Eunice, but according to his Facebook (no worry, not linking) page, Shab's Snacks was in the Marigot market area as of Bastille Day.

I have taken a fancy to bokits, so I hope he's still around.

Yes, we also miss Bruno and Fransua. (Wasn't that her name?)
