I recall a post here a couple years ago about this, and I also saw a 2012 TripAdvisor comment saying implementation had been moved back to March 2013. Well, it's 2015, now, so I gather it's in effect. Where do you get them? We'll be going to Orient Beach and want to make sure we have whatever is required for driving on the French side.

I haven't heard anything about it being enforced and we were there this last May. When in doubt just don't drink more than one or two and drive buzzed.

The Law requiring drivers to carry a breathalyzer is in effect in France since 2013 but the fine for not having one (11 Euros) has been suppressed, so practically this Law is not enforced, which is a good thing.
Just don't go over the BAC limit which is 0.05% and you'll be fine.

Which is nothing if you are normal weight. Take a cab or stay in walking distance of where you play.

It seems like the whole project got put on hold since there is not an adequate supply of the breathalyzers to implement it.

If you do want to actually buy one they are on Amazon or even seen them at the local CVS.
