Just returned from another fantastic 2 weeks on our favorite island. AA flight from Phila. went smoothly - actually, even with stop in San Juan, we arrived 1/2 hour early. Got car from Mohammed (great deal and service - no hitches) and chairs-umbrella from Craig of Pack Lite (again great service and great umbrella this year) and off to our villa above Orient. We always drive to the west and north from the airport and towards Marigot instead of towards Philipsburg, since we can cut off 15-20 minutes even though it may be a few miles more. Stayed at Villa Mayorca this year. Beautiful place! Rented from Cap Caribes. Jumped in the pool until time for evening meal and headed to Le Pigment for the salad and lasagna. Breakfast most mornings were crossants from Tap 5 affter our walk on Orient. Spent Tuesday at La Playa and walking the beach. Wednesday was slightly cloudy (only day of 14 where it wasn't perfect) so we headed into Philipsburg. Lunch at Passagraham (sp. ?) Walked the streets and visited Rimas. Carol picked up a new Tessa bracelet from Dany at the Art Gallery Le Saint-Geran and I bought a flowered shirt. Stopped for groceries at Grand Marche in Cole Bay and headed back for a meal at the villa. Thursday was our trip to Pinel and evening meal at Grand Case (Il Nutuno). Friday we headed into Marigot and climbed to the top at Fort Marigot. Stopped at Ma Dou Dou on the way home. Saturday we spent on Orient with lunch at Baywatch. Sunday was to the Loterrie Farm to exhust ourselves. We are both in mid-60s and we survived (the easy? one). Carol found that you need a lot of upper-body strength to be successful. We both finished! At least we can say we did it! Great lunch there, but a little pricey. Monday to Happy Bay. Somewhat crowded (maybe 50-60 people and children). Took our lunch (peanutbuter and jelly since everything is so costly), but found we could buy a plate of food for $10 and drinks for $2. Tuesday to SSBB to shoot the planes and then a trip to Cupecoy. Not much beach today. Wednesday we did the Rhino boats. Not as grueling as the zipline, but somewhat hard on the back, since I have had surgery on the back. Great snorkeling at Creole Rock. 2 1/2 hour trip. Stopped at Baie Rouge for lunch and the afternoon (Craig's chairs are getting a workout). Thursday we were back at Orient for the morning and our pool for the afternoon. We have these neat rafts at the pool that you can fall asleep rather easily on. We just have to attach ourselves to something so we don't go over the edge of the infinity pool. Sunset and Skys The Limit in the evening at Grand Case. Got a Paul Elliot print at his gallery. Friday we took breakfast and lunch to Happy Bay. Carol did a late afternoon trail ride at Bayside. She had a horse for years and never misses a chance to ride. Saturday, another day at Orient and supper at Le Pigment. Sunday to Long Bay with meal in evening at Grand Case (Rib Shack). Actually saw the green flash for the first time. Were watching the sunset and as the sun disappeared, voila! We looked at each other and said "did you see that!" Another first. Monday on the beach at Orient til 11:00. Showered and off to the airport. Already reserved Sea Haven villa in Oyster Pond for next year. Can hardly wait! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/dine.gif" alt="" />
