A tragedy indeed..but that way some of these guys drive I am amazed we dont have more serious accidents like this ( not saying this driver was to blame..but watching the way some of them tear up and down the hills..we need better inspections of tour buses and a mandatory speed limit of 30 mph on all roads..

I used to live on that hill and when it rains heavy its an easy aquaplane. Terrible tragedy, terrible news.

I don't know how it happened, but I did see it was a larger bus, like the one that crashed on Windy Hill a few years ago.

I'm not an expert is transportation physics, but I can tell you I would not ride in one of those except on a level surface(and even that is debatable). The wheels and tires seem way too small for the size of the vehicle and they appear to be top heavy. Just watching them pull out of the parking lot in CGB and make a hard turn and they look like they are going to roll over.

Of course, the larger seating capacity provides more revenue, which is what it seems to be all about.

Condolences to the families who lost someone today.

What kind of "bus" was this? A bus like we would expect in the US or Canada or UK, or one of those flat bed trucks with rows of bleacher seats?
I guess it doesn't matter, it is very very sad that the incident occurred.

Aparently it was one of the newer enclosed 25-30 passenger busses. The ones I have seen are a bit narrower and lighter weight than most US busses. If the driver was OK and most passengers hurt, I wonder what the seatbelt situation was.

Any new information yet regarding the injured people or the circumstances surrounding the accident? I know it's too soon to expect much...

Sunday was rainy here in VG and we could see rain on Tortola. Just read that 2 passengers went to stateside for Rx but 14 got back on the ship. Two remain in hospital. That hill is steep, curved and scary! Very sad.
