It's been a long time since White Bay had casual beachside charm. It's more like the Jersey Shore these days.

We were there 3 weeks ago. Based on the progress we saw it looks like Hendos will be able to open in January as planned.

We were there two weeks ago. Locals told us they were hoping to open for the holiday season. They appeared to be almost ready to go. Here's a picture taken on December 2nd.

Is that a hotel behind it ?? Is it a hotel and beach bar ?? Curious minds want to know. Their website isn't too informational.

The "eventual" plan is to build villas almost all the way down to Ivan's.

We will be there Dec 23rd through Jan 10. It will be interesting to see if they open while we are there.

Allan..... Will you do a full recon for us ? Get info and post a few different pics ?

No, Allan won't be allowed to go to a new bar. Ha ha!!
Seriously though, hope it opens while we are there. We will definitely check it out and bring back pictures.

Okay people...... It appeared on the Soggy Dollar webcam that there was hundreds and hundreds of you at White Bay the past few days. The curious hopefuls are wondering if any of you took pictures of the new Hendo's Hideout, next to the Soggy Dollar Bar. If you have them, post them please !!

There was a pavilion there that they use to serve lunch to the cruise ship crowds.

That would make sense. It looks like a restaurant that is almost done, and always empty when we go there. It would be rare for us to be there when the cruisers come to town.

Sitting at Soggy Dollar right now & Hendo's is still fenced off & not yet open.

Oh yippee. More people in White Bay.

I don't think it will bring MORE people to White Bay, I think it will help relieve some of the congestion at Soggy Dollar & spread them farther east along the beach.
