Say it Ain't So! Apparently ISIS has recruited from the Caribbean in the past, and is now urging homegrown Jihadists to attack Westerners similar to the San Bernadino, Boston, and Ft Hood attacks. Here's the article: Top General: ISIS Presence in the Caribbean on the Rise

Time to watch your six when heading to your favorite Caribbean getaway, particularly the British islands.

If it's going to happen it will happen. Personally, I can't think of a better place to die than SXM.

I appreciate knowledge that helps me make intelligent decisions. It is a news article, not a speculation.

So should people just bury their head in the sand and not be vigilant on what is going around them. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

Lets send IS SXM politicians. Their ineptitude and corruption would turn the terrorist group into utter confusion and unable to function.

Did you all forget the 3 Syrians who were arrested in Nov. at PJIA trying to enter SXM with bogus passports?

There really is no humor in a serious subject such as this.

Agreed, one guy's opinion is not necessarily 'news'. This thread should be deleted

There was a link posted to an article. Make what you want of it.

If every "opinion" was deleted there would not be much left to read. "Opinions" vary, some you will agree with and others you won't. Kind of like "opinions" when it comes to restaurants, beaches, attire, etc.

I'm with EdB. This does not belong here. The article is from a pretty dodgy source, and until there is some corroboration from some other source, I'll not give it any credit.

Scare tactics indeed.

The Caribbean is missing one vital ingredient for ISIS fighters: a significant Muslim population.

Muslims are few and far between in the Caribbean.

Yep, US News and World Report quoting a 4 Star US Marine General. Sounds pretty dodgy to me too. (he said VERY sarcastically) <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

My thoughts exactly, Captain. And since many of us never heard the outcome of the bad actors taken into custody at PJIA, I think it's worth a heads up to all of us. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Oh no my friend........look into the Trinidad and Tobago demographics and the situation of the early 1990's........US Navy sent an aircraft carrier to deal with the problem.

just googled and officials currently worried again.

Do some research. The combined muslim population on the English and Dutch Caribbean islands is close to 300,000 and does not include those on French and Spanish islands.
