Everyone has their own favorite that most people would say YUCK to!
I'll start it off...
PB&J (Jiff Creamy & Grape Jam) on lightly toasted rye (w/caraway seeds) and a good dousing of Jalapeno Sauce... Hot & Sweet! (like my wife )... Very tasty!

OK, my contribution is peanut butter and margarine on one slice white bread, mayo and lettuce on another slice, and woila, sandwich! My mom made this ever since we were growing up and Eric wanted to URP the first time he heard it!

Jim, believe it or not, I've made just about that, but used prosciutto... when I make chicken cordon bleu, I also use prosciutto... prosciutto, cream cheese and capers go so well together... would be great with hard salami or saprosatta too... I love saprosatta! I also like PB, sliced Granny Smith Apples & Hard Salami (or pepperoni) sandwiches... (sorry, this thread is not supposed to be about PB, just turning out that way)...

Cratti said: Open faced peanut butter with two slices of bacon across it. Loved it as a kid, but I've had lots of people tell me it's gross. add sliced banana and fry it like grilled cheese... and you have an Elvis! when we were kids in the 50's, my mom always gave us white bread, butter and sugar... along with milk mixed with ginger ale... when we got home from school... my sister & I loved it then... I couldn't eat that now! I lost my taste for it around eight yrs. old... [color:"blue"]The Elvis[/color]Recipe courtesy Peanut Butter & Co.Show: Sara’s Secrets Episode: All About Peanut ButterPrep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes Yield: 4 sandwiches Ingredients 2 tablespoons butter, softened 8 slices white bread 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter 1 large, ripe banana, sliced 1/4 cup honey 12 slices bacon, Sauteed until crispy (optional) Preparation: Spread the butter on 1 side of each slice of bread. On the other side of half of the slices spread peanut butter. Place banana slices on top of peanut butter. Drizzle honey over bananas. Place 3 bacon slices on top of the banana, then place the remaining buttered bread slices on top, butter-side-out. Place sandwiches on a preheated grill pan or griddle. Flip them over when they become golden brown and crispy. When the sandwiches are browned on both sides, remove to plates. Slice in half and serve immediately.

There is a deli near us in North Plainfield, NJ that makes "The Widowmaker, a Heart-Attack on a Bagel"... two fried eggs, one slice Taylor Ham, Three slices bacon, one sausage patty, slice of ham, one "steak-um" & cheese, all on an "Everything Bagel" slathered with cream cheese & butter... all for $3.99... enough calories for an entire day! (or two, maybe?)...
It's their most popular breakfast sandwich! I had one, ONCE, years ago! never again! BUT it was tasty! I did regret it for the next day or two!

How aboved deviled ham spread on white bread? We were just talkng about that in the office the other day. It's one of those things that I use to eat when I was a kid and now wonder why and what the heck is it made of? Anyone else ever have this?

Todd said: I grew up on PB and Mayo I thought my sister and I were the only ones who grew up with this kind of sandwich - always PB & Mayo - sometimes mom would add raisens and alfalfa sprouts.

Hey, we still do! It is my mom's grinder, we add cheese and onion and hard boiled egg also, along with bolongna, mayo and pickle relish. We had had the hand grinder ever since we got married, but hadn't used it in maybe 20 years until about 6 months ago, when we made it. Nostalgic look back, and we enjoy the ham salad for a change up sandwich.

Baumgartner's Tavern in Monroe, WI serves a great limberger cheese sandwich with a slice of onion on rye. Wash it down with a cold beer

Pepperoni slices (or proscutio or saprosatta or hard salami), granny smith apple slices, sharp cheddar cheese, mustard & mayo... on lightly toasted seeded rye... we used to always bring these on skiing trips for lunch... brings back memories of ski trips to Mont. Tremblant, eating at the summit lodge when it was -40F outside!

Sharp Cheddar cheese and grape jam (jam spreads on the bread better than jelly) on toasted rye bread. Kind of like eating grapes & cheese together.

I think Cheddar goes great with just about any fruit! My favorite is still a sliced Granny Smith or Macintosh...
