Well we had another wonderful 8 days only to come home and find the furnace stopped working and 45 DEGREES inside the house!!! Holy _____ we had 4 layers of blankets and long sleeved pullovers with our socks on cuz the bed was, you guessed it, 45 DEGREES. It's hard to imagine walking the beach in the morning at 85 degrees then 18 hours later shivering in your bed. Oh well . . . <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sad.gif" alt="" />

That wasn't a nice home-coming at all. Hopefully, the good memories will help keep you warm until you resolve the furnace issues, and also hoping no plumbing/frozen pipe issues related to the no heat situation.

Looking forward to a possible trip report? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

You have my sympathies. Not a fun situation to come home to. Hopefully, no frozen pipes! Our furnace decided to call it quits over the weekend and we had it replaced a few days ago. At least it happened before we leave for SXM on the 29th.Kind of cuts in to the vacation budget though. Hope your furnace is up and running now at a minimal cost.

As far as a trip report, we go for the heat and sunshine. We stay at Club O primarily with day trips to Philipsburg and Maho Beach. We are not foodies, it's relatively low on our list of things we look forward to. We eat to live not live to eat. That's us. So trip reports from us would be boring. But if you want to talk about recharging your batteries and meeting people to laugh with, that's us.

Sorry to hear of your cold welcome home. It is always a good idea to have your home checked by someone regularly when you are away and most insurance policies require that. Hope the problem gets resolved quickly and you will be warm again soon.

An electric blanket set on high about an hour before bedtime makes things nice and comfy !!

We live in the north and got a mattress warmer---best thing ever after a trip to a warm climate. Even though we have someone checking on the house, we lower the temp and as blooming said, the bed gets cold.
