Completing a week in the BVI, need to set up for a return to CYOA in St Thomas. What is a good back up for Christmas Cove. They looked pretty full when we went by at the start of the week.

We found the same challenge last year. We stayed outside Caneel Bay and had no problem in getting back to CA on time.

We anchor out in 30' in sand in the south side of Christmas Cove. We don't use the moorings there. Caneel is painfully rolly for our monohull. We also like anchoring in Water Island's Druif Bay/Honeymoon Beach. Brewers Bay and Lindbergh Bay are also anchoring options. If things are rough the moorings at Frenchtown Marina/CYOA Base are very calm.

Cheers, RickG

Last time we were in Christmas Cove it was so rolly all night that I got out of bed just before dawn & napped in the hammock. We knew at bedtime that it was going to be active, but wow. Swells were out of the south & even with the Pack 'n Play lashed to the salon table our poor grandson had to sleep in the bed with mom & dad; he was rolling all over his little bed!

If I can't be a good example, I'll just have to be a horrible warning. [Linked Image]
