Price wise, what is the best way to book with Club O? Is best to book room yourself, or can one find better rate through popular agent? Thanks for any input.

If there is any kind or special then Jim Rous would know. If not, then there is still no reason not to use him. You get the service at no cost to you and he will look out for you in case something unexpected comes up.

We ALWAYS book through Jim Ruos when we go to Club O. As Eric said, there is ZERO cost to you for his services (his fees are paid by the resort) and when you book through Jim everything goes perfectly.

In addition, if you need to make unexpected changes before you go, Jim handles all those details smoothly and expertly as well...getting you what you need.

...and you can do it all with a free phone call to his 1-800-476-5849 phone line.

Ah, that's just it! Everything works fine, UNTIL you have issues! And then it's much better to have someone in your corner! YEARS ago, our flight got held up in SJU, and we called Jim and he was able to get in touch with our hotel (LaPlantation maybe???) and let them know we would be very late arriving. We actually arrived at about 1 AM and the resident manager met us with a key and said "Oh yes, Jim called us and let us know you would be way late!". It was comforting to know, after such a long, stressful day, that we had someone looking out for us!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

We also used Jim Ruos's service last year, very easy and no extra cost. He even included 2 free drink (Perch or Papagayo) coupons.

Yes, but if you book through Jim, you get his coupons PLUS the ones given to every person that stays at Club O.

We used 2 at the Perch after check-in for lunch (love those Perch hot dogs) & 2 later in the week with dinner at Papagayo. Jim also sends you an envelope with tour reservation info along with some useful island info.

I guess we have not had anything go wrong that a phone call to Club O hasn't fixed immediately. Delayed arrival, earlier arrival, room switch, etc. Never had the need for a 'middleman', although I'm sure Jim is lovely.
