We'll be staying in the Simpson Bay Area, Mary's Boon, renting a car. Looking forward to spending time on this lovely island again. We have visited since 2004 with our last trip in 2015.

We'd like recommendations on options for excursions you have enjoyed. We have done the Pub Crawl on the Celion, and Random Wind cruise. Each is very different but we enjoyed both. We're wondering if there is something else you might recommend we try.

Also, some options for lunch and dinner in the Simpson Bay Area.

Thanks in advance.

I highly recommend a sail on the Passaat. They offer half-day sails, sunset sails, and dinner sails. What I like about the Passaat is that it's not a booze cruise - just the sounds of the waves and the sails. It's a lovely experience.

There are many restaurant options in the area, but some of my favorites include Fusion, Bavaria, and Byblos. Karakter, right next door to Mary's Boon, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It has received mixed reviews here lately, but I've always had a good meal and good service when I've been there. I visit the island in June when it's not as busy.

The new Celine too is a 62 foot motor catamaran that was completely refitted over a period of two years to become one of the premier charter boats on St Maarten. It was designed to have space , and comfort, catering for the discerning passenger. She goes out DAILY FOR DAY CHARTERS and is available for SPECIAL CRUISE SHIP AND 3/4 DAY CHARTERS . She also conducts a glorious Sunset Cruise around the lagoon on Tuesday evenings. Celine too offers the ONLY BOAT PUB CRAWL ON SAINT MAARTEN. The Pub Crawl is scheduled on Wednesday evenings, visiting three popular restaurants in the Simpson Bay lagoon with an appetiser an entree and a desert with a drink at each stop. Offering a seldom seen view from the lagoon at night. Celine too is available for all your PRIVATE CHARTERS, BIRTHDAY PARTIES AND WEDDINGS, ETC.

We did a dinner cruise on the Tango and a day sail to Anguilla on the Lambada this year. Both cruises are through Aquamania and they both were excellent.

The dinner cruise was a nice sail up to La Samanna and we anchored for a very nice buffet dinner on board and then a cruise with music and dancing back to the Pelican. This was a 3 hour trip and a really nice time. The cruise to Anguilla was a full day sail with a stop off Cap Jaluca for swimming and walks on the beach and then off to the other side of the island for lunch at Roy's. The group for the dinner cruise was our age and older (55+) and they partied and danced all the way back while the group to Anguilla was younger and really subdued...go figure! It all depends on the group on the boat but more times than not the trips have been a lot of fun!

Are there any dinner or sunset cruises out of Oyster Pond Marina or is the water too ruff on that side of the island going out the inlet?

I have never heard of any going out of there. It is often REALLY rough going out of there, yes.
