Have not posted in a while but have been a loyal follower. We are locked and loaded for our return to the BVI. . this time it is a father son trip.
Will be arriving on next Jan 2nd staying in Roadtown then departing from TMM. Any thoughts on the week after New Years eve.
Always have appreciated all the help from fellow TTOL'ers on our previous trips. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" />

We love visiting in January. The last two years the winds have been pretty frisky with swell. We never made it to Cane Garden Bay due to swell and saw no boats in the anchorage. The Cooper Island anchorage looked like a roller coaster. The usual protected anchorages were great. The bubbly pool was a great early morning visit, but got quite crowded later in the morning.

Cheers, RickG

We had hoped to do a sleepaboard but it is not available. Any recommendations on where to stay the day/night prior in or around Roadtown.
Last time we stayed two nights at Tamarind Club pre charter.

Fort Burt is just up the hill from TMM, great views from up there. I have not stayed in a while, so I can not comment on the state of the rooms.

Another option is Maria's By the Sea, not far from TMM.

Depending on how much time you have we've stayed at Maria's by the Sea which is very close to the ferry dock and downtown. We've also stayed at Fort Burt, which is across the street (up on the hill and overlooks the marina) from TMM. (A little dated and not as much to do here if you have a lot of time on your hands.) Both were fine for a night and very convenient for where we were chartering from.
We've also stayed at the Sugar Mill for a few days after a charter. Had a great time and it's a wonderful property, but seemed more for extended stay rather than a quick night before a charter.

Bop over the hill to CGB and do a fun one nighter there..."Rhymer's" is cheap, cheerful, clean, right on the sand and surrounded by fun places to get into the islands spirit..unlike RT..

Mal I like that idea we skipped CGB on our last visit and are not sure if we were going to make it this time due to a trip out to Anegada do they still have a good happy hour there
