I just saw that Norwegian Air is going to resume flights to Guadeloupe and Martinique from BOS, JFK and BWI. We are booked to fly to Guadeloupe at the end of March for a 5 night stay. Our tickets are $188 each, RT.
When we flew to SXM from PHL on New Years Day, we paid $640 each, RT, on AA ( AN EX-USAir route )
I wonder if it might be less expensive to fly to Saint Martin via Guadeloupe. There are numerous flights each day between Guadeloupe and Saint Martin ( Grand Case ). You would have to clear customs in Guadeloupe; but the flight to Grand Case is "domestic".

Went to the Norwegian website where it advertises one-way BWI-GDP for $49, service on Tuesdays and Saturdays. I couldn't resist... An early December Saturday is available for $69 but the flight arrives 18:15. The return the next Saturday is priced at $149 but departs GDP at 08:25. Add $25 each way for a bag and reserved seat. To compare, the UA non-stop from IAD on the same Saturdays is currently $520 R/T.

Most flights from Guadeloupe to Saint Martin fly into the Grand Case airport. Did Norwegian increase their fee for a checked bag ? I am only paying $17 each way, for a checked bag. My wife has a small suitcase, so we think that we can carry that one on. AA charged me $25 for each bag, each way, when we flew PHL - SXM in January.
