I see a lot of recent internet traffic about the new fees being placed on renters through VRBO - between 4 and 10% and for most of the villas on St John, the fee will be in the upper range of that. Some comments from owners are that rental website traffic is off considerably.

So much for booking through VRBO!

Has anyone made any bookings over the past week or two that incurred this?

Just booked in the BVI's for the fifth year in a row through VRBO with the last four being the same villa. Have always had a 10% fee plus 7% BVI hotel tax so this is nothing new unless it's another 10% which was not on my contract.
