You should have booked in St Thomas. However, most days there is an early ferry. Get the first ferry and you should have lots of time.

I would spend the last night at Emerald Beach Resort near the STT airport. There are just too many things that could cause you delays. If you're flying AA and checking luggage you need to be at the airport by 10am. What date is your return flight?

With a Monday departure you can try for the earliest ferry. That 7am RTFF from Road Town makes for a long day. I've had both Native Son and Smith's make stops at Cruz Bay/Red Hook on the way to CA, so I won't take those to Charlotte Amalie.
Draft Frenchtown Brewing beers at Rum Shandy and dinner at Hook Line & Sinker or Twisted Cork in Frenchtown is nice. A leisurely breakfast on the beach at Emerald Beach Resort beats a 5am wake up for the ferry.
Cheers, RickG

I agree with STT, but, IMO Emerald Beach is convenient but it's a dump, and in season, stupid expensive! If you stay there, DON'T allow them to arrange a van to the airport! The cab charged us $20 per person for a 3 minute ride. $10 for the person and $10 for the bag. I know, Fool me once... We just used The Malfolie ( http://www.mafolie.com ) and really liked it. It's up in the hills above the town center. The rooms aren't fancy but the view from the pool deck is great and the restaurant was very good. The only drawback is that you would need to cab back to town for dinner and drinks if that was on the plan. Kevin handled our taxi transfers and it wasn't expensive.

We love the Mafolie and always stay there the night before our return on all of our trips. The restaurant has the best food and the view at night is amazing !!!

Unfortunately Mafolie is becoming more known and more expensive. We have been lucky the last 2 years ... they have discounted our stays because we have been there so much. They have been working on upgrading the rooms and facilities which probably explains the price increases.

Chriskal said: These are all timely posts for me as I booked the Mafolie earlier today for our last night before flight home. I vacillated between the Mafolie and Emerald Beach. ultimately I couldn't get past the views and I generally prefer smaller properties. Looks like I made a good choice.! The rooms are nothing special ... but the views and food are what make the stay so enjoyable.
